    She’s passionate about empowering patients with knowledge and coordinated care, embedding Matilda into her surgical pathway to ensure every patient is supported before and after surgery. Dr Acton is the lead of the clinical advisory board at Matilda

    Dr McDonnell provides compassionate, comprehensive care from diagnosis through to recovery. With expertise in fertility and advanced laparoscopic surgery, she combines clinical excellence with genuine empathy, helping patients feel comfortable, supported, and confident in every step of their treatment journey.

She provides comprehensive care across fertility, gynaecology, and obstetrics, combining surgical expertise with a compassionate, research-informed approach. As a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, Sam is actively contributing to research.
